Third Win In A Row For Vital Albin

Third win in a row for Vital Albin

The 26-year-old Vital Albin is in excellent form. In the HC race of the CIC Swiss Bike Cup, he takes his third victory in a row – not even a spectacular crash can stop him.

As usual, the prestigious race at the Bikefestival Basel was a tactical affair. Vital Albin was active at the front of the race right from the start. After eight riders were able to pull away decisively in the middle of the race, Albin crashed a little later on the descent. However, he did not let this unsettle him and was soon able to catch up with the leaders again.

Ultimately, this turned into a race-deciding situation: “When I got back into the leading group, I realized that I was one of the stronger riders today. That gave me confidence,” Albin analyzed in retrospect at the finish. In the last lap, Vital Albin was always in the front positions. He managed to position himself perfectly for the long sprint. He won clearly from second position, ahead of Swiss champion Filippo Colombo and Fabio Püntener.

“A great victory for me”

“It’s a great win for me after the spring went anything but well. The good feeling is back and it’s great to be able to stand on the first step of the podium a HC race against strong riders,” said a visibly satisfied Albin after his third win in a row.
