First row on the grid for Keller and Forster
As expected, the XCC World Cup in Val di Sole, Italy, brought fast, hectic and open races right up to the end. Alessandra Keller and Lars Forster were able to secure a starting position on the front row for the XCO on Sunday. Vital Albin also impresses!
The race stories for both the women and the men are quickly told. On the practically flat meadow circuit, the decisions were only made in the final laps, with long sprints. Both Alessandra Keller and Lars Forster were able to establish themselves in the first positions right from the start and hold on to them until the end. The last bit was missing for a place on the podium. But with Alessandra Keller and Lars Forster both finishing in 6th place, the X-Bionic jersey from Thömus maxon was right at the front.
Strong XCC debut from Albin
Meanwhile, Vital Albin had a sensational race. Eligible for the XCC again for the first time this season, Albin started from the last row of the grid. With plenty of power, tactical skill and the right pacing, Albin worked his way forward from lap to lap. In the end, he finished in a strong 10th place. Mathias Flückiger, meanwhile, did not manage to position himself optimally and lost a lot of energy. As a result, Flückiger slowed down a little early on to save himself for Sunday.
