Keller back on the World Cup podium
The winning streak continues. Alessandra Keller has secured another podium finish at the XCC World Cup in Lake Placid (USA). The XCC world champion achieved an excellent third place in the penultimate short track race of the season.
Alessandra Keller continues to rack up success after success. The 29-year-old competed with great confidence and focus in Lake Placid in the first race of the final block of races in the 2025 World Cup season. With two laps to go, Keller made an effort to open up a gap on her rivals, but Evie Richards and eventual winner Jenny Rissverds stayed close behind.
In the final lap, Keller didn’t have enough strength to make it to the top of the podium. But with her third place finish, she made another big statement. «That was a super cool race. I’ve already had an excellent season, experienced so many highlights, and I’m very proud of another strong podium finish,» said Keller, who was extremely satisfied shortly after the race.
In the wrong place at the wrong time
Lars Forster, on the other hand, was unlucky. The two-time European champion got off to a good start and remained in the top ten throughout. However, in the third-to-last lap, there was a crash right in front of him. Forster managed to save himself with an acrobatic maneuver, but had to dismount briefly, ruining his chances of a podium finish. Nevertheless, he still managed a strong 12th place. Vital Albin rode consistently but never quite made it to the front on the ultra-fast lap, finishing in 19th place. Mathias Flückiger, on the other hand, dropped out early and wants to focus on Sunday.
