Keller Secures Podium Finish in Heubach

Alessandra Keller claimed third place at the HC race in Heubach (GER), gaining further confidence ahead of the upcoming European World Cup opener. The Thömus maxon rider used the race as her final test before next weekend’s World Cup round in Nové Město na Moravě.

The traditional HC-category cross-country race near Stuttgart challenged the riders with numerous climbs and a consistently high pace. Technical sections, however, played only a minor role on the course.

Keller made a strong start and was actively involved at the front of the race early on. As the race progressed, the Swiss rider was unable to maintain the pace of the leaders and eventually dropped back to third place.

Excitement building ahead of World Cup

The race was won by Nina Graf (GER) ahead of Rebecca Henderson (AUS), with Keller completing the podium in third.

“It was a tough race with lots of climbing and very few technical challenges. We started fast and towards the end I couldn’t quite hold the pace of the leaders,” Keller said at the finish. “Still, I’m happy with my performance and really looking forward to my first World Cup race next weekend.”

Keller travelled to Germany on her own, while the rest of the team remained in Switzerland to complete their final preparations for the World Cup in Nové Město.
