Alessandra Keller achieves podium finish at home race
Thömus maxon achieves an excellent team result in Engelberg at the third round of the ÖKK Bike Revolution. For Keller, the second place is already her twelfth podium finish of the current season. Lars Forster and Vital Albin finished second and third after an animated race.
Alessandra Keller from Nidwalden reached the finish line in second place after a – at times – lonely race. The world number one is nevertheless satisfied with the result. “I have trained very intensively and was not quite fresh today. But the numerous spectators here at my home race motivated me greatly, so I was able to squeeze the best out of me.” Sina Frei had been simply stronger today, she adds appreciatively after crossing the finish line.
Great team result with three podium places
In the men’s race, a trio pulls away shortly after the start. Vital Albin and Lars Forster challenged the eventual winner, Nino Schurter, at first. But the two Thömus maxon riders also come from a hard training block and pay tribute to the high initial speed during the race. Nevertheless, Forster manages to take time away from Schurter in the last two laps. “Vital and I tried to put Nino under pressure in the beginning. But then I had to back off a bit and was only able to really turn up the heat again in the end,” said Lars Forster after crossing the finish line. Such results are very important for him and he is happy that he has “tension on the chain” again, he finishes his statement.
After the successful form test, the riders of the Thömus maxon Team can start the coming, intensive racing phase with good certainty.
