Keller Just Misses The Podium In Fourth Place

Keller just misses the podium in fourth place

In the short track of the first European World Cup in Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic, Alessandra Keller finished a strong fourth in a sprint finish, narrowly missing out on the podium. Lars Forster impressed as well and, after 6th place in the XCC race, will also start from the front row tomorrow.

After a long break since the first two World Cup races in Brazil, the World Cup team is making a guest appearance this weekend in Nove Mesto (Cze). Team Thömus maxon showed strong performances at the short track events.

In the women’s race, Alessandra Keller was always present in the first positions. In the end, it came down to a sprint decision in which Keller achieved 4th place. She was satisfied with her performance: “I had very good legs and felt good. It was a close decision. I’m confident for tomorrow Sunday.”

Forster with a strong finish, Flückiger unfortunate

The men’s race was also only decided in the final lap. Lars Forster performed well and finished in 6th place with a strong final lap. Forster will therefore start from the front row tomorrow Sunday. Mathias Flückiger had less luck, falling on the last lap and thus losing all chances of a top place. Flückiger will have to start tomorrow’s XCO race with the handicap of the fourth row. Vital Albin was not (yet) eligible to start in the XCC.
