Forster And Keller Narrowly Miss Out On Podium

Forster and Keller narrowly miss out on podium

Lars Forster and Alessandra Keller narrowly missed out on the podium at the final XCC World Cup of the season, finishing fourth in their respective races. Vital Albin also put in an impressive performance in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada, finishing ninth.

The final showdown of the season got underway in sunny weather and cool temperatures on the short track. The course was extremely fast. The trio of Keller, Forster, and Albin (Mathias Flückiger did not start and is concentrating on the XCO race) put in consistently strong performances. Both Alessandra Keller and Lars Forster finished in a strong fourth place.

Confidence throughout the team

Nevertheless, both drew positive conclusions. Alessandra Keller summed up: «It was a good day. Fourth place, another front row start on Sunday, and third in the XCC overall World Cup.» Lars Forster was satisfied with his tactical performance: «I just needed that little extra push to get on the podium. I’m ready for Sunday.»

Vital Albin also had a good result, finishing ninth and just missing out on a place on the front row of the grid. « It was a good race. Of course, I would have liked to have started from the front row, but ninth place gives me confidence for Sunday.»

The last World Cup race of the season will take place on Sunday, over the Olympic distance XCO, in Mont-Sainte-Anne.
