Keller Impresses With Her Consistency At The End Of The Season

Keller impresses with her consistency at the end of the season

Alessandra Keller from Team Thömus maxon provided the highlight at the last cross-country race of the mountain bike season in Mont-Sainte-Anne (CAN). Keller finished in 5th place and came third in the overall World Cup standings.

With another very strong performance, 29-year-old Alessandra Keller once again achieved a top ranking in the last World Cup race of the season. With her fifth place finish, the short track world champion was once again among the riders competing for the podium places, securing third place in the overall World Cup standings – as she had already done in the XCC discipline rankings.

With a World Championship title, a World Championship bronze medal, two World Cup victories, and a total of seven World Cup podium finishes, Alessandra Keller had an extremely positive year in 2025: «The two podium finishes in the overall World Cup rankings show that I had a very good and consistent season, even though I started the season coming off an injury-plagued winter. The World Championship title in Zermatt, World Championship bronze in Crans Montana, and the home World Cup victory in Lenzerheide were the biggest and most unforgettable highlights for me.»

Mixed feelings for the men

Things didn’t go so well for the men’s trio. Vital Albin crashed in the first lap and needed time to recover. This dropped him back to 40th place, but he fought his way back up to an impressive 15th place. «I’m very happy with my performance. But of course it’s disappointing that I couldn’t finish higher up because of the crash,» said Vital Albin at the finish line. Lars Forster got off to a strong start, but then had to slow down due to head and neck pain and later had to abandon the race. Mathias Flückiger tried to make the best of his current condition and finished the race in 32nd place.
