First elite title for Lars Forster

Lars Forster (Thömus maxon) secured his first national MTB title in the Elite category at the Swiss Short Track Championships (XCC). The two-time European champion won for the third time this season at the start of the Swiss nationals weekend in Echallens (VD), taking the tenth Swiss champion title of his career.

Flückiger and Keller shine at home

Mathias Flückiger and Alessandra Keller both finish in a marvellous second place at their home World Cup in Crans-Montana. To top off a perfect day, Keller also took the lead in the overall women’s World Cup.

Keller comes second at home World Cup

Alessandra Keller takes second place in the short track at her home World Cup in Crans-Montana. The Swiss champion thus defends her top position in the World Cup discipline rankings. Lars Forster and Vital Albin also impressed in the men’s XCC race, finishing 11th and 22nd respectively.

Forster just a little short of the podium   

Lars Forster fought for the podium at the XCO World Cup in Val di Sole (Ita) right up to the last lap, but narrowly missed out on eighth place in a closely fought race by 15 seconds. Alessandra Keller in tenth and Mathias Flückiger in twelfth showed solid performances, but were unable to reach their full potential.

Wiedmann forth, Keller fifth – men’s trio with positive signals

The fourth World Cup race of the season in Val di Sole (Ita) started with the short track on a new course. Luke Wiedmann (U23) in fourth and Alessandra Keller in fifth were the best results for Team Thömus maxon. Meanwhile, the three men Mathias Flückiger, Lars Forster and Vital Albin did not achieve an absolute top result, but nevertheless sent out positive signals for the XCO race on Sunday.

Keller and Flückiger selected for the Olympic Games

Milestone for the Swiss MTB team Thömus maxon. The two team leaders Alessandra Keller and Mathias Flückiger have been selected by Swiss Olympic for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. For Keller, it will be the first Summer Games; Flückiger will be taking part in the biggest and most important MTB race for the third time in a row after Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
