Double Strike For Albin And Win For Keller

Double strike for Albin and win for Keller

At the final race of the Proffix Swiss Bike Cup in Gstaad, Vital Albin celebrated a great double success. The 24-year-old Albin won the C1 race and thus also the overall ranking of the almost 30-year-old race series. Alessandra Keller was also on top. The world number 1 won the women’s elite race – her eighth victory of the season.

For Vital Albin, the season could not have ended better. After a hard-fought battle against Marcel Guerrini, the fifth-place finisher in the World Championships, Albin took his third win of the season at the Proffix Swiss Bike Cup. He thus decided the fight for the overall victory against Andri Frischknecht in his favor. “That was really a perfect end to the season. I was once again very motivated to deliver my best performance and achieve this overall victory. The fact that I succeeded makes me happy. To be able to go into the season break as the daily and overall winner of the Swiss Bike Cup feels great,” Vital Albin summed up.

Alessandra Keller was also able to end her mountain bike season with a complete success and thus also put a perfect end to an extremely successful season for Team Thömus maxon. But it was not quite so easy for the Swiss champ and world number 1 in Gstaad: “At the beginning I really struggled with the conditions and hardly believed I could win the race. But the longer it went, the better it went for me. I’m happy to be able to finish my MTB season like this.”

Team Thömus maxon also won the team classification.
