Future Of Thömus Maxon Secured For Another Four Years

Future of Thömus maxon secured for another four years

The successful Thömus maxon mountain bike team will continue to be supported by its two main partners Thömus and maxon for the next Olympic cycle until 2028. The continuation of this cooperation and the contract extensions with other long-standing partners not only secure the team’s sporting future, but also enable the structures to continue to develop and become even more professional.

Team Thömus maxon has established itself as one of the leading mountain bike teams in recent years and has celebrated numerous successes at national and international level. With the extension of the partnership with the two main sponsors Thömus and maxon until 2028, the athletes can build on a long-term and stable basis that enables them to concentrate fully on even greater sporting goals. The partnership between Thömus, an innovative Swiss manufacturer of high-quality bicycles, and maxon, a leading worldwide provider of precision drive systems, heralds a bright future for the team.

“Together at the top”

“We are proud to continue these partnerships and to be at the top of international mountain biking together,” says team owner Ralph Näf. For Näf, who will be starting his tenth season as team manager in 2025, this is a big and important step for the future: “The support of Thömus and maxon gives our athletes the resources they need to maximize their performance and reach new heights.”

Valuable collaboration on different levels

The renewed partnership is not only a benefit for the team, but also for the brands, which will become more present in the public eye thanks to the success of their athletes. Thömus CEO Thomas Binggeli also emphasizes this: “The collaboration with Ralph Näf’s team is very valuable for us on various levels. In development, the direct feedback from the athletes and the proximity to the team ensures that we can bring the best bikes onto the market. The exceptional top performances also serve as an important and multi-layered showcase. We are therefore very much looking forward to continuing this collaboration until the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and pursuing major goals together.”

With innovative technologies and high-quality products, Thömus and maxon are jointly setting new standards in cycling – even off the race track. The key to success is the close cooperation with all team members, as Eugen Elmiger, CEO of maxon, explains: “For maxon, the athletes are among the most important test riders. They test the drives in extreme terrain and under the highest loads.” Elmiger also emphasizes the similarities: “We embody the same values as the entire team: performance when it counts. Swissness. Efficiency. Fun.”

Contract extensions for several co-partners

It is also extremely important for the sporting prospects of Thömus maxon that the existing co-partners Catrina Ressort, DT Swiss, Noser Group, Shimano Timetool, Giro and Schwalbe are also continuing their partnerships with the team. This ensures continuity and stability – two decisive factors in the battle for top performances. Ralph Näf is extremely grateful and extremely motivated: “The fact that we can continue to rely on so many strong, loyal and long-standing partners in the team is extremely valuable. This will enable us to take another big step forward as a team over the next four years.”

Thömus maxon will announce the exact composition of the team in around a week’s time.
