Keller and Wiedmann strong again at the end of the season

Alessandra Keller achieved another strong 5th place at the XCO World Cup in Mont-Sainte-Anne (Can) at the end of the season. U23 rider Luke Wiedmann also impressed, finishing in 4th place, bringing Team Thömus maxon to the end of a successful 2024 with no fewer than 19 victories, 2 overall World Cup wins, 18 podium places, 2 Olympic diplomas, 2 Swiss Champion titles and a European Championship medal.

Keller wins overall World Cup for the second time

Early on, Alessandra Keller has won the overall World Cup in cross country for the second time in her career. As she did in 2022, she has thus clinched the double: the overall and XCC discipline rankings. Lars Forster showed his excellent late season form in the men’s race and finished a strong fourth.

Wiedmann’s first C1 victory before the World Cup final

Last Sunday, Luke Wiedmann won a C1 Elite Men race for the first time in his career. At the season finale of the CIC Swiss Bike Cup in Lenzerheide, he relegated the reigning Swiss champion Filippo Colombo to second place. A perfect start to the end of the season, with the last two World Cups scheduled for the next two weekends.

Three victories for Flückiger, Keller and Wiedmann

At Mathias Flückiger’s home race, the final round of the ÖKK Bike Revolution in Huttwil, Thömus maxon could celebrate three victories. Local hero Flückiger won in front of his large home crowd, as did Alessandra Keller. While Luke Wiedmann took the U23 victory, Keller also won the women’s overall classification after her fourth series victory in a row.
